This page explains what Tailor My Resume stores, why, and how you remove it.
What we store
- Your email address, to sign you in.
- Your base resume, the job posts you add, the tailored resumes the app writes, and your answers about skills.
- How many resumes you bought, and, if you buy a pack, a Stripe customer ID and the payment record. Stripe handles your card details. We never see or store them.
The free check
You can check your resume against a job without an account. The app sends your resume and the job post to Anthropic’s Claude to find the keywords and the match. We do not save a free check in our database. Your browser keeps the result until you close the tab.
When you ask for a sign-in link from the result page, we keep the check with that link, so it still works when you open the email on another device. When you use the link, the check becomes your first tailored resume and your base resume (if you do not have one yet), and we remove it from the link. When the link expires unused, we remove the check.
Who processes it
- Anthropic (Claude) reads your resume and the job post to find keywords and write the tailored version.
- Cloudflare hosts the app and the database and sends the sign-in email. On the free check, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are a person and not a bot.
- Stripe processes payments if you upgrade.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share your resume with employers.
Delete your data
Open Account and choose “Delete my account”. This removes your base resume, every tailored resume, your skill answers, and your sign-in sessions from our database.
Cookies
The app uses one cookie to keep you signed in. We also use the Google tag from Google Ads. It sets cookies that tell us when a visit from one of our ads leads to a sign-up or a purchase. It does not get your email address or your resume. You can block these cookies in your browser, and the app still works. See how Google uses this data.
We use PostHog to learn how people use the site and to find errors. PostHog records which pages you visit and which buttons you use, and it can record your session as a replay. The replay shows the job links and text that you enter, but it hides your contact details: email addresses, phone numbers, and LinkedIn profile links, in form fields and on screen. We link these records to a random account ID and a shortened form of your email address (the first three letters and the domain, for example “jos…@gmail.com”), not to your full email address. PostHog stores this data in the United States. See the PostHog privacy policy.
